* This company sells sporting goods at its retail stores and through its various websites. As a developer, I work on 5 of the company‘s websites:  (1) skis.com (2) snowboardfusion.com (3) wateroutfitters.com (4) summitonline.com (5) inlineskates.net
* The sites are built on Xcart and Smarty Templating Engine. This job exposed me to: PHP, MySQL, Memcache, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, XML.  The sites are source-controlled with Tortoise CVS.  New code is amended to the system through a release process where it moves from Development => Test => Live environments. Backend system is composed of ~200,000 lines of code.
* Create XML Feeds and Product Lookup pages for integration with PowerReviews.  Map the layout of all of the sites‘ product categories.  Pull in details of all products from the database.
* Add custom administrative tools to the existing Xcart platform. Create a tool for grouping product categories and assigning packaging/handling fees to the group. Create an earnings reporter that can track merchandise and gift certificate sales based on selected time frames.   
* Fix bugs in PHP, Smarty, JavaScript, or in the database as they come up. Create cron jobs to update Memcache objects.  Administer database through phpMyAdmin.   
* Attend group meetings to discuss the layout of the system.  Communicate with my manager face-to-face, through IM, or email when discussing projects.

* Design from scratch a fully functional site for listing classifieds. Site uses the following technologies: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP5, MySQL5, jQuery, AJAX. Application code currently consists of over 10,000 lines of code.  Listed below are some of the features and components that have been created for the site.
* Design the frontend of the website using CSS for layout XHTML for clean markup.  JavaScript and jQuery are used for basic validation and form inputs.   
* Database Interface:  uses a custom-designed class for encapsulating all database interaction, which allows for easy debugging and easy tracking of activity and performance.
* Attribute-Based Searching:  ads are given certain attributes which may then be searched against making very precise searching possible.  This is used in conjunction with simple keyword-based searching which takes advantage of MySQL‘s FullText search capability. User‘s are given option to search for ads based on locations, what I call a \\\"Proximity Search,\\\" which requires a database filled with coordinates for finding nearby cities that fall within a certain proximity.   
* Image Display Script: a script that can pull images out of the database and resize them as necessary to make thumbnails or full sized pictures from the high-quality source image. Images can be viewed in a gallery format as well.
* User Account System:  create a backend for user‘s that allow them to manage their bookmarks, posts, profiles, and other account settings.  Create scripts that allow user‘s to write their classifieds, upload images, and to describe their posts with searchable attributes

* The purpose of this website is to create a search service that can link blogs together based on their content. This system allows a blogger to gain more exposure for their blog and increase their traffic.    Programming is done using various development tools including PHP, Zend Framework, Yahoo Developer API, MySQL, HTML, XML, and RSS.  Since my leaving, the site name and developers have changed.
* Communicate with other team members by conference call a few times per week. Attend in-person meetings to discuss direction that development should take.   
* Create login system and verify new user accounts through email and verification code.    Secure user data with encryption. Data is stored in a MySQL database.   
* Consume RSS and Atom feeds and process them for links and content using Zend Framework components.    Scrape web pages for various content to create relevant tags and keywords, using Yahoo Developer API, which are then stored in the system database for later use.   
* Create a blog searching mechanism with MySQL FullText search that uses previously collected tags and keywords to link together blogs when a user performs a search.

* MetaTrader is a proprietary platform for trading Foreign Exchange market.    The platform allows for automated scripts, called Expert Advisors or EAs for short, to do trading in place of manual traders.    Information on the platform can be found at www.metaquotes.net
* Design and code complete EAs using the MetaTrader 4.0 scripting language (which is similar to the C language) for trading accounts. Have completed over 40 programs which range in size between 400 and 3000 lines of code.   
* Design code for re-usability. Create libraries, includes, and templates that contain frequently used functions.  Create functions for all aspects of the trading process including functions to:    manage stoplosses; scan market data; generate market signals.  
* Communicate with client though email, instant messaging, internet forums, or otherwise to determine needs and program requirements.    Follow-up with client to debug scripts and make improvements.
